Hermann Maier Academy in Flachau stands for professional development of young ski racing talent — shaped by the experience and philosophy of one of the most successful alpine ski racers of all time. Through our cooperation with CLIF Racing Academy, we combine this legacy with an international coaching network built on decades of FIS-level experience across Europe, New Zealand, and the United States. Together, we offer a FIS Program for ambitious young athletes ready to take the next step in their racing career: from solid technical foundations to consistent FIS points results at an international level.

What Is the FIS Program?

The FIS Program is a year-round, structured training pathway for athletes at FIS age who want to become competitive at an international racing level. Delivered jointly by Hermann Maier Academy and CLIF Racing Academy, the program brings together two experienced coaching teams and a shared commitment to individualized athlete development.

Training content overview:

Technique and equipment optimization across Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super-G, and Downhill
Video analysis and performance diagnostics for objective progress tracking
Athletic training, strength, and mobility development with experienced coaching teams
Mental preparation and race strategy
International training camps at selected locations, drawing on both academies' networks

A Cooperation Built on Shared Racing Philosophy

The partnership between Hermann Maier Academy and CLIF Racing Academy unites two organizations with a common goal: developing the next generation of ski racers through structured, high-performance training. CLIF Racing Academy brings extensive international FIS coaching expertise, while Hermann Maier Academy contributes elite training infrastructure and a legacy rooted in World Cup racing success. The result is a program with broader coaching depth, a wider international network, and more consistent training opportunities across the season.

Training Locations at the Highest Level

Together, Hermann Maier Academy and CLIF Racing Academy train where snow and conditions are optimal — throughout the entire season. Our camp calendar takes athletes to locations including Kitzsteinhorn, Stelvio, Reiteralm, Val Gardena, and Silvretta, as well as select glacier areas for early-season altitude training. This cooperation ensures continuous, high-quality training year-round, backed by two academies instead of one.

Who Is the FIS Program For?

This program is designed for:

Athletes at FIS age holding a race license, or with a clear goal of competing in FIS races
Junior athletes from national squads or clubs seeking additional, individualized training
International athletes looking to complete training camps in Austria with experienced coaching support from both academies

Accommodation for FIS athletes

An apartment is available to athletes on the season programme, so a winter in Flachau does not have to be arranged from scratch. Ask when you enquire — availability and terms are agreed per athlete.

Through the European summer the programme moves to the southern hemisphere and to North American glaciers, so athletes keep training on snow all year. These are booked as individual camps.
