What is the Hermann Maier Academy?
We're a ski racing academy in Flachau, Austria, inspired by Olympic champion Hermann Maier. We run structured training programs for young racers — from first race camps to FIS-level preparation — alongside a ski school for beginners.
Where is the Hermann Maier Academy located?
We're based in Flachau, Austria, with access to top training slopes on the Reiteralm, Kitzsteinhorn, and Flachau mountains. These give us excellent conditions for technique work and race preparation across the season.
What age groups does the academy cater to?
We work with racers across these groups:
- **Kids Racing Camps** — U8 to U16
- **FIS & FIS Junior camps** — for athletes competing at FIS level
- **Ski School** — beginners building the fundamentals
Whatever the level, every athlete trains in a group suited to their age and ability.
What training programs does the academy offer?
The academy offers a comprehensive range of training programs designed to meet the needs of athletes at various stages of their development. These programs include specialized slalom and giant slalom training sessions, aimed at enhancing athletes' technical skills and race performance. Additionally, the academy provides dedicated technique training sessions to refine athletes' overall skiing abilities. For beginners, the academy offers beginner courses as part of its ski school program, providing a supportive environment for individuals to learn the fundamentals of skiing.
What sets you apart?
Personalized coaching, an experienced team built around the standards of an Olympic champion, and a genuine focus on each athlete's development — both as a racer and as a person.

Joining a Camp
Is my ski level good enough for a racing camp?
If you can ski intermediate slopes confidently and make solid parallel turns, you're ready — prior racing experience isn't required. Still developing the basics? Start in our ski school, where certified instructors build your foundation. Many skiers progress from there into a racing camp.
How do I know if my equipment is suitable?
Not sure your gear is race-ready? We'll help. Our staff can review your skis, boots, and equipment and advise on what you need. Through our partner ski brands, we can also offer discounts on quality racing equipment.
How do I apply or register?
Apply through our website or contact us directly. Registration involves a short online form, some basic information, and completing your booking. We're happy to guide you through it — just get in touch.
